FAQ

Does this tool file an IFTA return?

No. It shows a planning date only. Quarterly IFTA returns are filed through the base jurisdiction's own filing system — online portal, paper form, or third-party software accepted by that jurisdiction.

Can a due date shift for weekends or holidays?

Yes, and the shift depends on what the base jurisdiction accepts. Some extend the deadline to the next business day; others do not. Confirm the accepted due date with the base jurisdiction before assuming any extension applies.

What is the due date for Q4 returns?

Q4 returns cover October through December. The standard planning date is January 31 of the following year. When Q4 2026 is selected, the tool shows a January 2027 date — that is the correct quarter.

Is there an extension process if I can't file on time?

Some base jurisdictions grant filing extensions on request. Extensions for payment are less common — interest typically accrues from the original due date even if a filing extension is granted. Contact the base jurisdiction for current extension procedures.

Does the tool use external APIs or save input?

No. The calculation runs entirely in the browser. No data is transmitted to any server and no input is retained after the page closes.
